"Junior in college. Star athlete. Constant attention from the opposite sex.

On this campus, I’m worshiped. While seven hundred miles away, back in my hometown, I’m still trailer park trash, child of the town tramp, and older sibling to three kids who are counting on me to keep my shit together so I can take them away from the same crappy life I grew up in.

These two opposing sides of myself never mix until one person gets a glimpse of the true me. I never expected to connect with anyone like this or want more beyond one night. This may be the real deal.

Problem is, Dr. Kavanagh’s my literature professor.

If I start anything with a teacher and we’re caught together, I might as well kiss my entire future goodbye, as well as my family’s, and especially Dr. Kavanagh’s. Except sometimes love is worth risking everything. Or at least, it damn well better be because I can only resist so much."

To Professor, with Love was the first book I'd ever won through GoodReads first reads. I hadn't read the first book, so before I started this one, I'd figured I'd go ahead and read the first book, Price of a Kiss. BUT.......To Professor with Love can be read as a standalone!!!!

In To Professor, with Love, we meet hottie and man whore, Noel Gamble, star quarterback. We soon learn that the reason Noel strives so hard in school and football is to support the 3 siblings he has left back at home.

Then we meet, Aspen Kavanaugh , a 23 year old professor with a PhD obtained at a young age. We learn that Aspen is a total genius, whose parents pushed her at a young age and never really showed her the love and support she needed to emotionally and mentally strive, giving her low-self esteem. We also learn that Aspen was raped at an even younger age, and it was just brushed off to the side by her parents.

The two meet in Professor Kavanaughs English class, when Noel receives a "C" on a paper that he claims to have worked hard for. When Noels coach receives word of this, he approaches the Dean, whom in return, reaches out to Professor Kavanaugh, and basically suggests "giving" him a better grade. Professor Kavanaugh is then determined to make Noel earn the grade, by giving him a second chance. After a brief and intense meeting in her office, they start to develop a Forbidden Romance. Noel digs deep and pours his heart out in his second paper and Aspen is very touched.

Aspen decides to goes on a date with another professor, that is apparently engaged, she did not know of course, and he stands her up. Once in the bar, she realizes that Noel works here, and gets really drunk. Noel then drives her home and they end up making out and she spills her heart to him.

Their relationship is very understandable, they're wonderful together and give each other the emotional support lacking in the superficiality they present to others. Their romance evolves slowly but was full of sexual tension the moment their eyes met and became super steamy once they finally gave in to the inevitable and "hook up," in the Janitor closet at school, without a condom.

There is so drama with some secondary characters (one of which we meet in Price of a Kiss (Forbidden Men, #1)Mason Lowe.) I was very excited to see Mason and Reese make an appearance, and still be so much in love.

Then soon realize that they are both taking such a risk, and that if this affair gets out, Noel could loose his scholarship and any chance at going pro, and Aspen could loose her job, and the possibility of ever teaching in Illinois again.

“You. Are. Mine … I don’t care how wrong we are for each other. I don’t care that I’ll never be good enough for you or that we’re risking everything to be together. Your mother would never approve. Whatever. Fuck it all. You are fucking mine. And I’m yours. And we belong together."

They know they are taking a huge risk and they could be caught out at any time. When someone pulls the rug out from under them a choice has to be made, a bloody tough choice. Will their love be able to withstand anything?

I loved Linda KagesPrice of a Kiss (Forbidden Men, #1), so I knew that we were in for a real treat with To Professor, with Love.

First... i LOVE Forbidden Romances, they give me a thrill knowing that the book I'm about to embrace is going to show a struggle between two, and knowing that there are so many reasons that they cannot be together. Many of these novels feature a male professor and a female student, but i like that the roles are reversed.
