OMG. It has just come to my attention that I never posted my review for Catching Kate, and Releasing Kate is set to release in a few weeks. I do apologize, but I am going to make this short and simple, and make it spoiler free. If you have not read Breaking Kate, please do not go any further, even though I am not posting any spoilers, the short blurb itself gives so much away.
"After almost four years, Michael Matthews has come face to face with the love of his life. To say it didn’t go quite as he envisioned is an understatement. Never in a million years would he have imagined that his best friend, Daniel, is the new man in Kate’s life.Catching Kate is told in Mikes POV. It feels in the gap before his and Katherines breakup, and the events leading up to their next encounter almost 4 years after their breakup. All hell has already broken lose when we met back with Michael aka Mike in Catching Kate. The cat is out of the bag, and everyone realizes Daniel’s Kate is Mike’s Katherine and Daniel’s friend Mike is Kate’s Michael.
Once their explosive evening concludes and everyone goes their separate ways, Mike takes the time to calm down and plan his next move. If there’s one thing that calms him it’s Kate, even if it’s just memories of her. Mike has four hours before he sees her again and gets to plead his case. Instead of sleeping, he spends his evening remembering every detail of their relationship from the beginning.
Experience Mike and Kate’s love story from the start, all from Mike’s point of view. Find out why he left Kate in pieces and learn just how far he’ll go to make her fall in love with him all over again."
I absolutely loved hearing the entire story in Michaels POV. Knowing what I knew before I came into Catching Kate, and what I learned from it, it is clear that Michael does and always has loved Kate. But when we met Katherine, aka Kate, she was broken, and Daniel pieced her back together. I do not want to see her fall to pieces again. How will she handle the situation? Who will she choose? And will friendships prevail above love?
