THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
"On a
warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s
fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are
being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears.
Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy
daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's
diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on
edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well
as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series
of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s
definitely bitter—but is he really a killer? "
I do not even know where to start with this
review. There are so many twists and turns in this story that it is hard to review without giving anything away so I’m going to keep it short and sweet. Gone Girl broke my reading hiatus. I decided to pick it up and could
NOT put it down. I posted on my Facebook wall multiple times a day regarding
the mind games that were occurring (spoiler free of course). My friends were
either cheering me on or throwing casually cautioning me to read slower. “Absorb
it,” they said.
I slowed down. I savored every.single.word and
boy was my mind blown. This book had me actually yelling out loud “plot twist”
on multiple occasions. You start to think you know exactly what will happen and
then realize that Gillian is two steps ahead of you. Great book if you enjoy
mysteries and suspense!
You can purchase Gone Girl on Amazon.
