"21 year old Maggie Taylor has always dreamed of being a professional ballet dancer, it’s what she has worked towards all of her life. Six months after the death of her mother, she’s been accepted to a prestigious school of ballet in New York City. Knowing her father would disapprove, Maggie packs her car and sets out to fulfill her dream.
21 year old Sam Austin is tired of being stuck in a small town where his life is going nowhere. At the age of 10 his mother walks out on him and his sister and Sam is forced to deal with his father’s depression and drinking. Over the years Sam finds solace in his guitar and the hopes that one day he will find a better life. When his cousin offers him a job in Chicago, he leaves town with only his backpack and guitar and the hopes of finally getting his life on track.
When Sam and Maggie cross paths through unexpected circumstances, they are forced to share the only room available in a small Midwestern town. What first starts out as friendship soon turns to a weekend filled with passion and uninhibited sex, having strong feelings for one another , they find it hard to say goodbye but eventually they go their separate ways. Suddenly Maggie is left to deal with the consequences from that weekend alone. After several failed attempts to locate Sam, Maggie has no other choice than to leave New York City and her dreams behind. After coming to term that she will never see Sam again, tragedy thrusts them together again. With the memories of that weekend resurfacing, they can’t deny their feelings for each other. But there are obstacles that threaten to stand in their way."
