"When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly."

Beautiful story about love in its' glory and shame; in its beauty and it's hate.... Don't hesitate to pick this one up. Be warned things do get messy. After all love can be ugly.

Tate is nurse who moves in with her pilot brother Corbin in San Francisco to finish school and eventually get a place of her own. When Tates arrives at her brothers apartment for the first time, she finds a man passed out drunk in front of his door, and when he tries to enter she slams his hand in the door..only to realize that this man is her brothers best friend, Miles. Once she gets a passed out Miles into the apartment she immediately senses that something painful has happened to him and he is still suffering from it.

"This guy may deserve every single bit of remorse he's feeling for whatever he did to Rachel, but at least he's feeling it. Whatever he did to Rachel, at least he loves her enough to admit it."
Miles. Miles. Mikes. Miles is a MEGA sexy and mysterious pilot. He suffered something horrible in his past and the chapters from his POV give a very intense build up to finding out what happened to him. There is an attraction between Miles and Tate but Miles makes it clear from the beginning that he doesn't want a relationship and Tate says she can handle a sex only relationship. Miles only has two rules that Tate must follow....
"Never ask about my past, and don’t expect a future"
Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

"Ugly love becomes you. Consumes you. Makes you hate it all. Makes you realize that all the beautiful parts aren't even worth it. Without the beautiful, you'll never risk feeling this. You'll never risk feeling the ugly. "
I went through it all. I laughed. I smiled. I screamed and cussed. I got mad a few times and I cried. Cried like a baby. Miles Archer stabbed me in the heart. Not a small cut. Not just a scratch but a stab. And slowly sewed me up. That is what this book did to me. I felt bad. I felt bad for Miles. For the hardship he went through. The heartache he had to live with because he was too afraid to love again. And Tate. I felt bad for Tate because she was the one to see it, to go through it with him even if she had no idea what happened.

And seeing Miles battle between pushing Tate away and wanting to pull her closer was heartbreaking. I couldn't do it. It was too much. I felt it all. The heartache, the pain, the sadness, the want and need. It broke my heart. And I cried. Cried like a baby.

BTW: Cap...I love you, you old man!

Will they be able to maintain a sex only relationship or will their attraction for each other deepen into something more? You will have to read to find out!

Ugly Love is told from alternating POV's which added lots of depth to the story line. Tate is telling us what is happening in the present day and Miles is telling us about what happened in his life six years ago. Miles has been through some pretty heart wrenching experiences that now have him afraid to let love in. Ugly Love is a beautiful story full of angst, drama, and humor.

What makes this story even freaking better you ask? Well...it looks like there will be a movie in the future...staring a NICK BATEMAN. Cannot wait for this to become a film! I recommend this book for anyone like me: a sucker for a great epic love story, with a few bumps along the way!
