"Six months after the death of her mother, Twenty-one-year-old Maggie Taylor is just trying to get through each day when she's offered a coveted spot at a prestigious dance school in New York City. Knowing her father will not approve, she packs her car and sets out on a road trip that will leave her forever changed.

Twenty-one-year-old Sam Austin is tired of being stuck in a small town. Forced to deal with his father's alcoholism since his mother left eleven years ago, Sam has only ever found solace in music and frequent one-night-stands. When Sam is presented with the opportunity to move to Chicago, he leaps at the chance, and leaves town with only his backpack and guitar.

When Sam and Maggie arrive in the small Midwestern town of Hermann, Missouri, they are forced to share the only room available . What starts as a simple inconvenience soon turns into a weekend of passion. A passion that will burn until they are reunited years later by a terrible tragedy."

Miles From Home has taught me not to think about the what ifs, to relish the now and to take life as it is. It has reminded me to look at all the wonderful things that are around me. And when you find that type of love, you hold onto it as tight as you can.

*** I was extremely privileged to receive a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review***

Maggie. Six months after her mothers death, she is accepted into a prestigious dance school in New York. Bright eyed and optimistic, Maggie loads up her car, and heads out of town, leaving only a note behind for her father. Half way there, and Maggie car breaks down.

Sam. has worked as a detailer at a car dealership for far longer then he has wanted and he wants to do something on his own. When he's given the opportunity to move to Chicago, help run a bar and play his guitar, he jumps up and takes it! Unfortunately, Sam gets miles from home, and misses his bus. Left stranded, he starts walking towards the bus station in next town.

With an alternating POV between both Maggie and Sam, the two are given a fateful encounter. They end up in the small town of Hermann, Missouri, and they are forced to share the only room available. While waiting on the part for Maggie's car, the two venture into the small town and engage in the Wine Festival going on. When Maggie gets a little tipsy, Sam guides her back to the room, and when they touch hands for the first time, electricity is flowing between the two of them. The night ends with a simple kiss, and the next morning Maggie offers to give Sam a ride to Chicago.
"I feel lucky to have spent one of the most unforgettable weekends with you."
While holding hands, the two wander into town again, and after three bottles of wine, a slow dance, and a passionate kiss, the two run back to the room and things get very steamy. What started out as a simple inconvenience soon turned into a weekend of passion, and they couldn't get enough of each other. Unfortunately, its just that, a weekend, and when Maggie's car is fixed, the two of them head for Chicago.
"Maggie, don't ever stop chasing your dreams.  Chase them until you're breathless."
And that's when they say Goodbye. There is no doubt that this is hard and that they developed some sort of feelings for the other. Maggie leaves her number, and she pulls away. Maggie can't get Sam out of her head as she starts school . As each day gets easier, Maggie is able to settle in and go about her every day routines. That is until the unexpected happens and Maggie is forced to make a decision that will effect the rest of her life.

With another fateful encounter three years later, a terrible tragedy occurs, Maggie comes face-to-face with the one person she never expected to see again, Sam.

"I love you so much, Maggie.  You're my sun, my stars and my moon."
Now that they have reunited, is the passion still burning? Or is it too late for Sam?

Holy amazeballs... the minute I started reading Miles From Home, I could not stop. I neglected all adult responsibilities, and propped up on my couch until I was done.  There are so many wonderful parts to this story that I fell in love with. I could spend all day writing my favorite quotes, or the most memorizing parts of this story that is how good of a book this is.

There is no drama, thank god! This is a small cliffhanger at the end (I'm not even sure it could be considered a cliffhanger), and I can't wait to find out what else she has in store as she continues to write their story. Ava has found a way to completely captivate me, and create such beautiful characters. Miles From Home is every bit of heart-wrenching and beautiful.

So I would like to say Ava, Thank you, thank you, thank you. From the bottom of my heart Thank you! For this being your debut novel I am in awe. I can't wait to read your future works. You have found yourself a fan and supporter for life. <3
