THE THEME SONG
“All Eyes on You” by St. Lucia – This is without a doubt the theme for Amour Amour. It has the overall tone of the book, and the lyrics remind us of performers and Nikolai and Thora’s relationship. We wrote with “All Eyes on You” before we chose any other music. And as soon as we listen to it we get immediate Amour Amour feels!
THE AMOUR AMOUR SOUNDTRACK
“Burning Gold” by Christina Perri – This song really reminds us of Thora and her determination to change the course of her life. I’m setting fire to the life that I know / Let's start a fire everywhere that we go
“Lucifer’s Eyes” by T.O.L.D – There are few emotional moments in Amour Amour. And during a major one, we’d write with this song playing in the background. It has this sad quality to it, but the drums make a little different and more circus themed.
“One More” by Elliphant (Ft. MØ) – Amour Amour has plenty of nightlife and club scenes. We’d crank up this song really loud when we were writing. It has the feel of those “never-ending” nights that is reminiscent of some scenes in the book.
“Victory” by Sound Remedy (Ft. Evvy) – This is basically Thora. Trying so hard to achieve something more for herself. The dance beats are just a bonus. Anytime Thora was pumped up, we’d put this on and pump ourselves up. Because no one gives better motivational boosts than Thora James ;)
“I Believe” by Christina Perri – Another Christina Perri song, and this one also reminds us of Thora’s spirit. We also switched on the Group Love and Captain Cuts remix of this song whenever we wanted the dance beats.
“I Think I Like You” by SirenXX – Thora and Nikolai are complicated. Which is summed up nicely in this song. We also love the beat, and we listened to it while writing some of the earlier scenes in the book.
“Young Blood” by Bea Miller – This has a very anthem-feel to it. Whenever the tone picked up to that note, we’d switch to “Young Blood.” Plus it has a very Thora James vibe to it.
“Gold Coins” by Charli XCX – This song always reminds us of Vegas. It just has a real up-beat tempo. We wrote with this song to some of the more light-hearted scenes in the beginning of the book.
“Busy Earnin’” by Jungle – The trumpets in this song just feel very Amour Amour!
“Come Alive” by The Pierces – This was another Vegas/Acrobatic/Nightlife song for us. During the darker club scenes, we wrote with this one.
“Take Me To The River” by Annie Lennox – This has a very performance/dance feel to it. Whenever we were writing the circus routines, we’d switch this on.
“Can’t Stop Dancing” by Becky G – Another song that we listened to while writing circus routine scenes. The title says it all :)
