Spoiler Free Review by Krystal
"Chloe has one plan for the future, and one plan only: the road. She’s made a promise to herself: don’t let anyone in, and don’t let anyone love her. She’s learned the hard way what happens if she breaks her rules. So she’s focused on being invisible and waiting until she can set out on the road—her dream of freedom, at least for a little while.
Blake Hunter is a basketball star who has it all—everything about him looks perfect to those on the other side of his protective walls. He can’t let anyone see the shattered pieces behind the flawless facade or else all his hopes and dreams will disappear.
One dark night throws Chloe and Blake together, changing everything for Blake. For Chloe, nothing changes: she has the road, and she’s focused on it. But when the so-called perfect boy starts to notice the invisible girl, they discover that sometimes with love, no one knows where the road may lead."
I thought I had it all figured out, but then Jay went in and like she always does, completely amazes me with the beauty of her writing. If you love her PHENOMENAL hit The More Series, you will absolutely fall in love with Where the Road Takes Me.
I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Chloe Thompson has spent most of her life building walls to keep herself from others. When her mother and aunt died from cancer, Chloe was left in the hands of the Foster Care System. Since then Chloe has been determined to live life on her own terms: don’t let anyone in, and don’t let anyone love her. Chloe wants to remain invisible until she finishes high school, then she wants to hit The Road.
Blake Hunter is your typical All American High School Student. Popular, big shot Basketball player, the perfect girlfriend (just not perfect for him), and the guy everyone wants to know. But at home, not everything is as it seems, his mother is living in the guesthouse, and his military father has a mistress. Blake is struggling with making his family proud and or following his heart.
But one night...the two are thrust upon each other, and Blake automatically feels the need to protect Abby, or should I say, Not Abby. And Chloe starts to break her rules, even if just for one night.
"I knew my future. I knew my fate. And I knew that I had absolutely no control of any of it. I'd learned to accept that and be thankful for what I did have. "Knowing her life is going to end sooner than she'd like, Chloe doesn't want to cause any harm or pain to the ones she loves, so she pushes everyone away, except Blake, who just won't leave. Until Blake, she never questioned the way she thought about her life, but Blake, he made her question it, made her want to change it, change the outlook. The two of them become friends and they slowly start to tear down the walls that have been built. Blake things he is saving her, but is it her that is saving him?
"Sometimes the wrong path can lead us to the right road."
The love between Chloe and Blake is the once in a lifetime, fairy tale love that everyone searches a lifetime for and even though they are only 18, there is no denying that they have found it!
Graduation Day is finally here and Chloe is leaving for The Road...and Blake must decide: to be honorable, or follow his heart?
Oh, how I LOVE Blake ! He was such a strong heroine! He loved Chloe with everything he had, and he was willing to look past their differences, and see her for who she really is. Hes super hott, athletic, and an all around good guy.
All of the secondary characters captured my heart ! Sammy, Mary, Dean, Clayton, Josh, Tommy and Mrs. Hunter...my favorite was Sammy ! What is there NOT to love about Sammy.

"The story is relate-able, and will give many people the strength and spirit needed to fight through similar heartache."And I couldn't agree with it more (Thank you Sam). Jay Knows how to relate to her readers!
If you love The More Series, you are going to LOVE Where the Road Takes Me. Even though the two stories are completely different, they are the same because Jay has captivated her audience and wrote the most beautiful story. Where the Road Takes Me was everything I could have hoped for and more. Superb writing, depth in story & character development, heart and soul. Where The Road Takes Me is not just a new adult contemporary romance. Its about friendship and sadness, and finding happiness.
