Interview with Krista & Becca

Thank you so much for sitting down with me for an interview. If you don't mind, I have some questions for you two about your series, Addicted, your new book, Fuel the Fire.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So first off, your newest book is part of your series, Addicted. Let's talk about the series as a whole....

In your own words, what is the Addicted series about?

Krista: It’s really about friendships, family, and finding love amidst strong outside forces.

Becca: Krista said it best, and underneath the romance, the Addicted series is also about finding love within yourself and staying true to who you are.

If you had to pick one thing, what is your favorite thing about the series?

Krista: Probably the character development. I love being able to dig deep into each character and have growth for each one from the beginning of the series to the end. I also love all of the different relationships, and being able to write and highlight friendships and not just the sole romance.

Becca: I agree with Krista. With long series, the best part is being able to discover the facets of so many different relationships and friendships and seeing them reach highs and lows. The evolution of the characters will always be my favorite aspect from beginning to end.

Can you tell us a bit about the newest book in the series, Fuel the Fire?

Krista: Fuel the Fire is about Connor and Rose, the two geniuses of the Addicted series. Their relationship is very strong by this book, but they will both have to confront some things that may push them outside of their comfort zones.

Becca: We have to be super secretive here :) Almost everything about this book verges on spoiler territory, and we both believe the best reading experience is to go in blind but with a very open mind and not too many preconceived ideas about what you “think” the plot may be.

How did you come up with the title of your newest book in the series and can you tell us its significance?

Krista: Oh gosh! I’d love to shout this from the rooftops, but it will be in the book so I want to be hush hush in case of spoilers.

Becca: yep, have to stay hush, hush ;)

What was your favorite scene to write in Fuel the Fire?

Krista: I loved writing so many of the scenes in Fuel the Fire, but I think my favorites have to be the ones with Connor and Rose alone together. Their banter and *ahem* sexy times are very fun to write.

Becca: I don’t think I can choose. I usually can, but I love so, so many scenes that when I reread Fuel the Fire, my giddiness never falters and writing them has been equally enjoyable all the way around. It has something to do with Rose & Connor alone together, as Krista said. Their banter and dynamic is just completely different from all the other characters.

What was the hardest scene to write for Fuel the Fire?

Krista: We both can agree which scene this is, but we can’t really tell anyone until after the book releases because it’ll definitely spoil people. We had to rewrite this scene probably a total of five or six times. It was a nightmare, but in the end, I really think it’s one of the best scenes in the books.

Becca: Yep! (I have an answer for this, woot woot!) The scene Krista is talking about took us roughly 3 weeks of our writing time to nail down. For us, that is a HUGE chunk of time for one scene. It ended up being spectacular (in our opinions), and it’s one scene that I could reread over and over again.

With the Addicted Series coming to an end soon, what are you going to miss most about the series, and what's next for you?

Krista: Writing in the character’s POVs and having all of those large group scenes. Just the dynamics between everyone. Giving that up will be difficult, but I am excited to write other characters and creates new dynamics.

Becca: Definitely writing the characters and their relationships with each other. I’ll miss being in their POVs and focusing on their struggles and ups and downs. It really hasn’t hit me that we only have one book in the series left after Fuel the Fire. I think I’m trying to avoid the pain of saying goodbye.

Is there anything you’d like to add or say to your fans?

Krista: Thank you so incredibly much for all your support! We never dreamed that anyone would read our books, so to have fans that champion them and root for the characters is a blessing in itself. We’re truly grateful.

Becca: We may be biased, but we truly believe we have the best fans out there. You all are so kind, generous, and loving, and I couldn’t pick a better group of people to surround these books and these characters. Thank you so very much!

Personal questions.........

If you could be best friends with one member of the addicted gang, who would it be and why?

Krista: I think I’d like to be friends with Rose. She would make a great shopping buddy. On the other hand, I also think Lily would be ridiculously fun to geek out with. Can I be best friends with both of them? ;)

Becca: I’d probably be friends with Lily, Loren and then Daisy. Lily & Loren because I’m into pop culture and comics as well, so we can all hang out together at Superheroes & Scones and chat about television like The 100. And then Daisy because I’d try new, adventurous things with her and eat chocolate cake :)

Kill, Fuck, Marry: Loren, Connor, Ryke :)

Krista: Fuck Lo. Marry Connor. Kill Ryke. Only because Ryke would intimidate me more than any of the other guys. I think I’d just be a pile of mush around him.

Becca: I can’t remember what I usually pick, but right now my answer is…Fuck Loren, Kill Connor, Marry Ryke. I’d want Lily & Loren to be together, and I even feel bad that he’s with me and not his soul mate! And then I’d kill Connor because I think I’m a more “Daisy” or “Lily” personality and we’d just be good friends. There’s no friends option! I’d marry Ryke because he’s incredibly kind and I love how he treats and respects women.

What about your top 3 books you’ve read this year?

Krista: I haven’t read as much as I wanted to this year, but I have read some amazing books so far. Red Rising by Pierce Brown, Indebted #2 by Pepper Winters, and If Only by Cherise Sinclair.

Becca: Like Krista, I haven’t read that much yet. I usually binge-read and I did that at the end of 2014, and then the beginning of 2015, I went on a comic book reading spree, so that’s all I’ve read so far. And I loved the new Ms. Marvel: No Normal and then Saga: Vol 1 - 3

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for taking time to answer some questions. Congratulations on the new book and I can't wait for everyone to read it – Krystal
