"Ashley’s Bend-a knot used to securely join the ends of two ropes together.

Ashley Carter thought she had the perfect life as the loving and supportive wife to her upcoming attorney husband. Marrying her high school sweetheart and moving to Chicago to start a life with him seemed perfect, until she ends up walking in on him with another woman.

Determined to start her life over after always sacrificing herself, she attends the grand opening of a new club in town with her best friend. She went expecting to have a good time, what she didn’t expect was to meet Dominic Michaels.

Dominic Michaels is the owner operator of a string of BDSM clubs, The Celtic Knot. He displays control and power over everything in his life, especially his women. Having suffered through a tragic event at a young age, he never allows a woman to remain a part of his life beyond the bedroom, that is until he meets Ashley Carter.

Can the love of a woman loosen the knots of control that Dominic securely holds on to?

Sometimes it is hard to make the shift from control to surrender."

I won a copy of Cassy Roops second book in the Celtic Knot Series, Figure Eight, and I kept putting reading the series off. But this weekend I finally had a chance to start at Ashley's Bend. I wasn't sure what to expect except for the fact that is was a BDSM book.

Ashley Carter and married to her high school sweetheart, Jared. She works to support her husbands dream of becoming an attorney. She has put dreams on the back burner, and in return, their marriage is on the rocks, so she decides to try to spice things up and surprise her husband. Only the surprise is on her, when she finds him cheating on her with his secretary. When Ashley's best friend Kelly invites her that night to a grand opening to an exclusive club, The Celtic Knot, Ashley decides to start living her life go. But when Ashley arrives, she was very surprised that it is a BDSM club. She has always had a vanilla sex life with her ex husband, but deep done she know she needs and wants to break out of her shell.

The owner Dominic, and ever so gorgeous hunk that he is, pulls her up on stage for a lesson. The attraction between them was instant. Dominic wanted Ashley. He wanted her to be his submissive. Dominic offers Ashley a submissive training class where he would train her. Ashley was hesitant at first because she was fresh out of a divorce and wasn't looking for a relationship. Dominic assures her hes not looking for a relationship, he just wants to teach her new things and let her be pleasured. During the process Dominic can't get enough of Ashley and he doesn't like the shit he's feeling for her. Dominic doesn't allow for anything with a woman beyond the bedroom and even then he's in complete control.  He has never in his life cared for a woman or showed any affection to one. But with Ashley it's different. He starts pushing Ashley away as his feelings started getting stronger for her. He was hot and cold with her and it started confusing her as well.
"You look so fucking hot right now, Ashley. I am dying to be inside of you, and I will soon. I will own you, Ashley." ~Dominic
She knew they had a connection and she was feeling more.

Things start to get steamy between the two of them. Can Ashley’s mere presence loosen the knots on Dominic’s heart? Is Ashley willing to submit to dominant Dominic? Which role will Ashley choose?
"You. Are. Mine, Ashley. Your, heart, soul and body belong to me." ~Dominic
When Dominics club is vandalized, friendship and loyalty are put to the test. Lust, love, betrayal, hot sex scenes.... makes for an exciting read. But this is a cliffhanger book... luckily the second in the series, Figure Eight, is already out !

Unfortunately, Ashley's Bend was not much different then many other BDSM books out there, I found many aspects of the story-line similar to that of others. Though there were a few twists and turns, overall, I enjoyed the book and can't wait to read the next.
