"Penny Mathews is 18 and new in town. Her widowed dad, Robert, just moved them both into an old Victorian house owned by Rebecca Nash, also widowed, who is renting out rooms to help make ends meet. Penny can’t help teasing Rebecca’s son Jonah, who is also 18 but a bit shorter, slightly nerdy and very bashful. She needles him by calling him “Squirt,” but takes pity on him when he awkwardly tries to ask one of the other girls at their high school for a date and can’t even get the words out. Penny decides to mentor “Squirt” to help him get over his fear of girls, using her own unique approach guaranteed to boost his confidence and help him rise to the occasion. The problem is, Penny soon discovers that Jonah is the perfect “boy toy” and someone worth giving her heart to as well, and decides to keep him for herself. Now if they can just keep their romance and their frequent hook-ups secret and not let their raging hormones burn them out, everything will be fine. But that’s a really big if...!"

I was provided a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.

T.M Haught messaged our blog back in January, and we promised a review, and it got looked over. So I was excited as I finally began Penny & Squirt. The name alone promises some good sexual content :)

Penny Matthews, with her long blonde hair, brown eyes, standing at 5'6 inches tall, and rocking figure, is the new girl in town, and  she and her widowed father are renting out a few rooms from Jonah and his widowed mother. Jonah, with his tousled brown hair and blue eyes, stands about 5'3 tall with a slender build. Penny and Jonah, whom she has nicked named, Squirt, have already become great friends.

"You're a regular giant, Squirt."
High school was just like any other high school, and of course at lunch every sort of "crowd" had their own table. As Penny observed Jonahs actions at lunch, she soon realized Jonah was a challenge, that he needed a boost of confidence and a lot of help with women. And Penny was up for the challenge. What started a challenge, turns into frequent hookups, but she soon realizes, she does not want any other girl to have him.  But what happens with Jonah has learned enough? Will he take those experiences and move onto the next girl? Or will Penny be enough to suit his raging hormones?

Penny & Squirt was a cute story. Typical friend-try to go lovers romance. I loved Jonah, he was a very sweet and innocent, dorky and kind boy. If I were Penny, I definitely would never want to let him go. When T.M Haught throws us a little curve ball, and throws in a little drama, I was very impressed with how Penny & Jonah handled it. And I especially loved how Jonah stood up for Penny..swoon. There was no jealousy between the two, just sexual misadventures ;)

Unfortunately, I felt like the story lacked depth. Although we caught a brief glance of both Pennys and Jonahs past, I felt like there was a lack of connection with the characters. Some of the story gave a little too much detail, and seemed to run on a bit much. The story line was on point, I just didn't feel a huge connection with the characters.

I totally thought the story was going to turn a different direction, and Penny & Jonah were going to become step siblings or something, but I was glad that was not the direction of the story. The ending though...I like that the way it ended...although I was left wanting more! It's not a cliffhanger, but with no epilogue or anything...I was left wondering what happened after prom?

Altogether, I enjoyed Penny & Squirt. The story was catchy and the characters were likable. I really look forward to the perhaps next installment, and hopefully anything else she lets me read. I would suggest clicking on the link below and reading !
