"I was never one to believe in spirits—until six years ago,
when a bone-chilling accident changed my life... forever.

My name is Charlotte, but most people call me Char... and I have a special gift.

I talk to the dead.

Make no mistake, I can’t summon them. I’m only able to see and speak to the spirits that linger when they’re unable to crossover. They’re somehow weighted to the world with unfinished affairs. And for the last six years, I've relentlessly used my gift to help their lost souls.

But it’s come at a price. My life is dark. Feeling despondent, I've begun to give up. And in helping the dead, I've realized I haven’t allowed myself to live. With no money, no place to go, and most importantly... no hope, I've decided there is only one option—to end it all.

But fate is a funny thing. One minute, I’m about to leap to my death, and the next, I’m saved by Ike McDermott. The strong, striking soldier stopped me from putting an end to my despair. He’s the kind of man that smiles and brightens an entire room.

Sweet and gentle.
He is my savior.
And he’s dead.

We've made an agreement. He’ll help me find a place to stay and a new job if I’ll help him with his unfinished business so that he may crossover.

Ike’s unfinished matter involves his twin brother, George. George has been falling apart since Ike’s death and Ike has not been able to compel himself to crossover in peace until he knows George will be okay.

When I agreed to help, little did I know that I’d fall in love with the charming folks of Bath County, and... Ike and George McDermott.

Now, as both brothers own equal parts of my heart, I am faced with a cruel and unfair predicament. In saving George, I must let go of Ike.

But how does one let go of half of their heart?"

I was recommended Where One Goes by a friend when I told her I wanted a book that will make me ugly cry. So I came into this book only knowing that I was going to cry. Two pages in and I'm WTH and finally read the blurb. So I put my kindle down for a day and the following day I picked it up and finished this book in a matter of hours. HOLY WOW!  I didn't want to stop!

Heartbreaking and touching, Toler is a genius! I can honestly say that the story line is truly unique, something that I have never read before and that it totally caught me off guard!

After a tragic accident, Charlotte sees dead people who need help. OK yes....DEAD PEOPLE - DONT LEAVE. Scared and alone, the last 6 years of her life has belonged to the dead and she will never get it back, therefore she has made the decision to take it back, to end her life.

Ike MCDermott died in Afghanistan 10 months ago,  stuck in limbo, he watches his loved ones suffer, as he has no ability to help them.

It is when Ike catches glimpse of Charlotte and yells to her, that he is caught off guard by the fact that she can not only hear him, but see him too. They are two lost souls, one alive and one dead, that come together to help the other heal. Ike is desperate to help his twin brother George deal with his grief and find forgiveness. He and Charlotte agree to help each other.

Ike guides Charlotte into the small town of Warm Springs, where he makes good on his promises. It is there she finds shelter, food, and a job all because of Ike.

George MCDermott. He is truly broken over the loss of his brother, as he blames himself every for his death. He is very unlikable at first, but as Charlotte starts imposing herself on many areas of his life, he is slowly becoming a new person, he is beginning to heal.

"While shes fighting to help me let go somehow we've become tethered to one another, even though we both know our time is limited."

I loved all of the secondary characters, as they all played an important role in both boys life.

Now, as both brothers own equal parts of her heart, she is faced with a cruel and unfair predicament. In saving George, she must let go of Ike. In the end, who will save whom?

Where One Goes by BN Toler was every bit of beautiful as it was emotional.... all the feels . I literally laughed out loud and I cried. This is the first book I've read by the author and I look forward to many more!!
