Blackbird by Molly McAdams

Blackbird (Redemption Series)

by Molly McAdams
Release Date: February 28, 2017
Spoiler Free Review by Rachel

I live in a world few know exist. I’ve trained for this. I know what to say, what to do, and how to act. I’ve perfected the lethal calm required for this life.

Now it’s time to buy my first girl. But all it takes is one look at the brave girl who starts singing mid-auction for that calm to slip.
Briar Chapman is going to be the death of me, and I don’t care. I’ll take every day with her until that death comes, and I’ll welcome it when it does.

On the outside, Lucas Holt is what nightmares are made of. A man cloaked in darkness, with sin-filled eyes and an enticing grin. A devil so devastatingly beautiful and cruel that his very presence instills fear.

But beneath his terrifying, ever-calm exterior is an affectionate man haunted by a past that refuses to stay buried. And Lucas looks at me as though he’s finally found the only person who can make it all go away.
We’re a battle of the brightest day and the darkest night—and I want to lie in the wake of our war.

I've always enjoyed reading Molly's books. Emotional reads and all the feelings that come along with them? Yes, please!! Blackbird definitely has all of the emotions you've come to expect from Molly, but it has SO MUCH MORE. It's darker, sexier, and will leave you wanting more! I've seen it said over and over again, but I'll reiterate; This is definitely Molly McAdams best work.
Blackbird covers some tough subjects, as you can tell with just the synopsis. Human trafficking, kidnapping, hostage situations, a whole world that most of us only read about in fiction, or see on the Hollywood big screen. Parts of it were really tough to read, I'll admit! Blackbird will make you second guess yourself and how you "think you'd react" in a frightening and intense situation. Are things always as they seem? Not usually.
Oh, and the twist? It will Blow. Your. Freaking. Mind!!!

What can I say about this book without giving anything away? I felt the heartache and fear that Briar felt as her world was turned upside down. I was utterly consumed by the secrets and seduction of Lucas; a mysterious man with a heart of gold and a dark past he can't seem to rise above, not for lack of trying. Blackbird completely blew me out of the water and I will never forget the feeling that came over me when it all fell into place. I

“I would burn the world to keep her safe."

Molly's writing shines in this novel, I need more suspense from her because she is SO GOOD at writing it! My anxiety was crazy nuts through the roof. I would think I had it figured out and then boom...NOPE! I was in a glass case of emotion throughout most of this novel, but the last 25% was…..
Crazy.               Intense.              Epic!

                     ALL THE EMOTIONS.
ALL THE THINGS.
ALL THE FEELINGS.
Again, I just can’t get over the twist!!! It will leave you with your mouth hanging wide open and then when it's all said and done....a HUGE smile on your face. This book was EVERYTHING. What's that saying...The devil is in the details? I am insanely excited for the rest of the stories in the Redemption Series. Hang on to your hats, folks, because Molly McAdams is just getting started.

“Because he is the darknessHe is the devil….…and I love him”

I See You by Molly McAdams

I SEE YOU By Molly McAdams

Release Date: November 1, 2016

Review by Rachel

~Synopsis~

During one wild night in college, Jentry Michaels is a tidal wave of ink that brands Aurora Wilde’s soul. An unparalleled stain she can’t forget despite the many months that have passed—and despite the distraction she’d hoped she would find in her new relationship with Declan, the charmer who captured her heart soon after. Jentry has irrevocably touched her soul, and he is intertwined in her present and future in ways she never fathomed. Now Aurora is faced with keeping that night hidden though it feels as if the ink has indelibly etched their story across her skin.

When Declan is confronted with his own personal demons, Aurora must decide if she will continue to hold tight to their relationship and a safe, reliable future with him, or if she will turn to Jentry—the guy she can’t forget no matter how hard she tries.…

~Review~

Side note...If you know me at all, you know how much of a die hard Trent lover I am (Trent Cruz from Deceiving Lies). I started a silly petition, that garnered over 100 signatures, just to attempt to get his story written. I've made Trent shirts and basically stalked Molly over him. I mean, her husband even threatened me with a restraining order. Hehehe, just kidding.
Anyway, while she has yet to deliver Trent Cruz to me, let me tell you....Jentry is giving Trent a serious, hard core run for his money. Because you know, they're fighting over me and all...Haha! This is serious business, people!

I See You is an angst filled, twisty, turny, fiery hot love triangle! A smoking-ly sexy, *seriously, I had to take a metaphorical cig break after that scene!* one night stand that Aurora/Rorie can’t forget about after 10 months. Neither can I, Aurora. Neither. Can. I.

This book started off with a bang and didn't stop until the final words were uttered.
I See You is written in a back and forth time hop, and they confused the heck outta me in the BEST WAY possible. While I usually prefer minimal time changes, it worked for this book and the way everything plays out.

"Letting you leave that night was the biggest mistake of my life, but not letting you leave now would be the second. So leave before I start fighting for you in a battle I can't win."

While Rorie and Declan were steamy in their own right, Rorie and Jentry are....take your breath away, WHOAAA. Whose team will you be on?! I'm definitely #TeamJentry on this one! I See You is one of the most unrivaled love triangles I've read to date. So many twists, *what the hell/no way* moments, characters that you'll admire and fall in love with....and also one in particular that you'll utterly LOATHE.
L-O-A-T-H-E
*I'm looking at you, Linda. I got your sweet tea right here, with a secret ingredient *cough*strychnine*coughcough*.

I absolutely ADORED Rorie's best friend, Taylor. She was such a good friend while also telling Rorie her no holds barred, honest opinion on the sticky situation she'd gotten herself into. Taylor had one of my favorite lines EVER in a love triangle book...-evv-errrr. "Well, good f*#ks can be hard to forget!!!" HAHAHHAA! DIED!!!! I rarely physically laugh out loud while reading, but I had tears with that one. There were a few scenes that Aurora drove me nuts, but I completely understood her. She's still a likeable heroin through her faults. She's a people pleaser, but she finally grew some balls when all was said and done. Seriously, major balls. Me=Daaayum Rorie! It's about time!!

And then, there is this gem....

"My body trembled when he ordered in a low, hoarse tone, "Bend over and place your hands on the wall. Don't make a sound.""

One more quote that I adore....

*There is that phrase " The darkest hour is just before the dawn. It was something I'd heard my whole life. People had tried to tie it to their lives in so many ways to give themselves hope. And I'd never understood why they would cling to a saying just to make themselves feel like they could get out of whatever situation they were in. I understood now.Because there is so much unknown in the darkness, and the unknown can be terrifying"*

I See You is one that I'll reread many times over, and Jentry has secured his place in my top book boyfriends. One-click now and get ready for this captivating, roller coaster of emotion!

Show Me How by Molly McAdams

  SHOW ME HOW

by Molly McAdams

Release Date: August 23rd, 2016

New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams delivers another heart-wrenching, emotional novel in her Thatch series…

After her first love was ripped from her grasp four years earlier, Charlie Easton was sure she would never be able to trust anyone with the shattered pieces of her heart again. That is, until Deacon Carver forces himself into her life, and makes those pieces swirl in chaos. But Charlie doesn't know how to let him in… until a stranger stumbles upon a notebook filled with her innermost secrets, and shows her how.

Deacon Carver is known for sleeping his way through the town of Thatch, as well as the surrounding cities—something he used to take pride in. But that persona has haunted Deacon ever since he decided to leave that life behind for the girl he wants more than anything: Charlie Easton.

But when another girl falls into Deacon's life, allowing him to be himself without judgment for his past, will their conversations hinder his relationship with Charlie … even if he's never seen her?

Are you ready for another emotional read from Molly McAdams?

In typical Molly fashion, she brings all the emotions to the table.......
and you devour every. delicious. bite.
While Show Me How was not a *Chapter 13* level tear jerker, (ahem, Taking Chances) it still tugged at my heart strings and made me tear up a few times.
We first meet Charlie and Deacon in Letting Go. Charlie is Jagger's younger sister, and Deacon is one of his best friends.
I personally recommend reading this series in order; Letting Go, To The Stars, then Show Me How, so that you don't miss anything, but some have read this without reading Letting Go or To The Stars first and said they "got it". I feel like you miss too much information if you do that. But, to each his own!

I absolutely LOVE Charlie. She has been through a lot of trial and heartache in her life thus far. She's trying to raise her son, Keith, as best she can as a young single mother. I know firsthand how hard that can be. It's a tough situation to be in, and hers has an even more heart wrenching element than most. I love that she's not consumed with anything artificial; no drama, just trying to provide the best life she can for her and her son.
I don't want to say too much about her son, Keith or give anything away, but he's THE most adorable kid on the planet. He has a huge part in this book and it's a given that he will outright steal your heart.

Deacon. Oh, Deacon. A few words to describe him would be sexy beast and asshole. But, I can't help but love him. He is working through his own issues, trying to figure out his path in life without keeping his "man-whore" label. Now, believe me, he has earned EVERY bit of that label and more, but we all deserve second chances, right?! Right!
And that's what this story is about. Getting that chance, looking past everything that has ever happened and realizing that not all situations are what they seem

We get to see all of our beloved characters....Jagger, Grey, Harlow, Knox, and of course, Graham.
Show Me How brings the Thatch Series to a close, and it couldn't have been a more perfect final bow.

Released June 9, 2015
Spoiler Free Review by Krystal

From the New York Times bestselling author of Taking Chances, From Ashes, and Stealing Harper, comes the new unforgettable adult romance Molly McAdams’ fans have been waiting for—the sizzling story of a young woman who must place her trust in the one man who can break through her defenses.

A night they will always remember…a connection neither can deny…a secret that could destroy it all…

When Kennedy Ryan moves to California, she never expects to come face-to-face with Liam Taylor—the intriguing man who has haunted her thoughts for a year. A man who led her to breaking every one of her rules for a single night of passion that ended up meaning more than it was ever supposed to. Accustomed to disastrous experiences with men, Kennedy shields herself before he can break down more of the carefully built control she’s clung to for the last four years. But every time she sees Liam, she feels her resolve weakening.

Liam Taylor has been asked to help socialize his boss’s nieces. But what he thinks sounds more like a babysitting job ends up leading him to the only girl who ever slipped away before morning—a girl he thought he’d never find again. And now that she’s within reach, Liam’s determined to never let her go.

But when a secret from her past tests their relationship, will they be able to cling to the trust Liam has worked so hard to build?
